Our Professional Equipment
Choosing the best
Our Impeccable Results: Our Equipment
Floor sanding equipment ranges from state-of-the-art to machines best consigned to a museum. Choosing the latter is a recipe for an inferior job, or even a damaged floor, particularly when used by inexperienced amateurs.
See ‘I’ll do it myself’ for why hiring sanders from a hire shop could prove a regrettable and expensive mistake.
The essence of floor sanding is to create a perfect surface while minimizing the spread of dust and collecting it efficiently. We have tested a variety of machines over the years – and remain convinced that the best job is done with the best equipment.
Laegler
Eugen Laegler was born in Frauenzimmern and trained as a mechanical engineer.
He pioneered automation for parquet strip floor sanding machines by lagering during the 1950s, with his first belt sander, the ‘Hummel’ – named for its humming drive noise. Little could he have foreseen how this name would become synonymous with perfect parquet sanding.
The Hummel is used to sand the main area of the floor. The results speak for themselves: dust emissions are a maximum tiny 2mg per cubic meter (basically, a capful per bin liner of sawdust). With such a tiny amount, you can safely leave the pictures hanging on the walls of your home.

For edges, the powerful suction power of the Laegler Flip reaches all the areas.
The Hummel cannot reach. The maximum dust emissions are 0.5mg per cubic meter.
The Trio finishing sander will fine sand your floors to perfection before applying the chosen finish.

Bosch Corner Belt Sander
Edging Sander has round discs, so the right angles in corners will remain untouched, looking ugly and unfinished.
For the professional finished look, we use a mini belt sander by Bosch. Small – yet very powerful – it gets right into the corners, removing old paint, adhesives or bitumen with ease.

Festool
This top-quality German make has been developed over eighty years to become among the best dust-free sanding machines in the world. Their name is synonymous with quality, innovation, and competence.
They remain at the forefront of cutting-edge research and the development of new technology.

Bona
From 2003, BONA has developed a range of versatile floor sanding, buffing, and edging machines. We use these on a daily basis for floor restoration.

Numatic & Clarke
The Numatic woodworker and Clarke are orbital sanding machines – for fine finishing and sanding between the various coats of sealant. Their high-speed, compact action produces a smooth, scratch-free surface. While a unique skirting system and large vacuum fan ensure a dust-free operation. We also use these machines for wood deck sanding.
